Preventative Visits

Preventative wellness visits (physical exams) are very important for everyone to keep up with. In medicine, the best treatment or cure for a disease is to catch it early (or even better, prevent it entirely).

During Your Wellness Visit You Will Address With Your Doctor:

  • Any recommended preventative procedures (mammogram, colonoscopy, Pap smear)
  • Overall health status
  • Review of current supplements and medications
  • Recommended lab tests or blood work
    • This may include: red and white blood cells, liver and kidney function, blood sugar, thyroid function, Vitamin D status, cholesterol levels, sexually transmitted disease*
      • STD testing is recommended for all adults and every adult patient will be asked if they would like to do this at their wellness visit. Our clinic is a safe zone and there will be no judgments made about any patient’s consensual sexual history.
  • Physical exam to evaluate the overall health of your body
    • We do not routinely get weights of adult patients as we find this is often more harmful to mental health than helpful or insightful to your health status. If you would like us to get your weight at your annual exam please tell your doctor.
